The tourism club is an
integral part of the Centre. This is essentially a student driven
body managed and run by the students. It is a platform for engaging
and consolidating the industry academia relations. Students sharpen
their planning and organizing decision skills and learn the
practical aspects of event management as well. The club also
publishes an in-house newsletter "Travanama". Some activities
undertaken by the club are :
* Workshop on “Costing” by Mr. Ujjwal Kant, General Manager, Cox &
King, New Delhi.
* Session on " Career Planning " by Mr. Vijay Sehgal, Tourism
Consultant & Travel Writer.
* Session by Capt N P Puri, Vice-President, Kingfisher Airlines.
* Heritage Trip to Krimchi Temples, Udhampur and Manwal, Mansar.
* Eco Tourism trip to ShivKhori, Patnitop and Nathatop.
* Rural Tourism and Citizen Awareness Campaign at Mansar Lake,
Jammu.
* Promoting Lesser Known Destination of Sehar Baba and Agar Jitto in
the Katra region.
* Visit to Akhnoor Fort and Amritsar (including Wagah Border).
* Organised Monthly Destination Quiz.
* Participated and volunteered in 3-day Jammu Festival and Navratra
festival at Katra.
* Organized “Duggar Darpan” on World Tourism Day 2009. |
